The upcoming films in 2021 and 2022!

2021 is a big year for blockbuster films, and even 2022 seems to be. It is not usual for film releases to be pushed back, but due to the worldwide pandemic, many release dates had to be pushed back—lots of films were supposed to arrive in 2020, now finally arriving in 2021 and some in 2022. Movies like The Suicide Squad, Fast and Furious sequel F9, Marvel’s Black Widow have arrived, and films like Eternals and James Bond adventure No Time to Die, Marvel’s Shang-Chi, will be coming to theatres and streaming services. The films like Morbius, Uncharted, The Batman, etc are planned for 2022. The entertainment industry has undergone lots of changes due to the pandemic. Now films are being released both on streaming platforms and theatres as well. Since the global vaccination has started, theatres at many places began to open.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings –

Based on the Marvel Comic character Shang-Chi is an upcoming American superhero film. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and produced by Marvel Studios and is the 25th film in MCU. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and screenplay by Dave Callaham and Destin. The main cast includes Awkwafina, Simu Liu, Tony Chiu-Wai Leung. Shang-Chi is being drawn into the Ten Rings organization, where he is forced to confront his past.

The film is scheduled for release on September 3, 2021, in the US and will the part of MCU Phase 4 releases.

No Time to Die – 

This is an upcoming spy film and the 25th in the James Bond series. Eon Production will produce the film. Star Daniel Craig will be seen for the 5th time as fictional British M16 agent James Bond and will be the final James Bond film for him. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, screenplay by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Neal Purvis Robert Wade, and Fukunaga. The main cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Léa Seydoux, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, David Dencik, Daniel Craig, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Rami Malek, Rory Kinnear, Dali Benssalah.

The development of No Time to Die began in 2016. This will be the 1st Bond film distributed by Universal Pictures. The film is scheduled for release on October 8, 2021, in the US.

Eternals – 

 Based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name is an upcoming American superhero film. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and produced by Marvel Studios will be the 26th film in the MCU. Eternals being directed by Chloé Zhao and screenplay by Kaz Firpo, Ryan Firpo, Patrick Burleigh, Zhao. The main cast includes Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Dong-Seok Ma, Lia McHugh, Haaz Sleiman, Ozer Ercan, Jashaun St. John, Zain Al Rafeea, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Harish Patel. In this film, an immortal alien race emerges from hiding after thousands of years to protect Earth from its evil counterparts.

The film is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021, in the US and will the part of MCU Phase 4 releases.

Top Gun: Maverick –

This film is an upcoming American action drama film. Screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie, Eric Warren Singer, Ehren Kruger, directed by Joseph Kosinski, and story by Justin Marks and Peter Craig. The film is the sequel to Top Gun (1986). The main cast includes Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Jake Picking, Val Kilmer, Jay Ellis, Monica Barbaro, Bashir Salahuddin, Raymond Lee, Jean Louisa Kelly, Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm, Lewis Pullman, Manny Jacinto, Charles Parnell, Danny Ramirez.

The film is scheduled for release on November 19, 2021, in the US and Canada by Paramount Pictures. Initially, the film was expected to release in July 2019 but got delayed due to production delays. Due to pandemics, the film got further delayed.

Spider-Man: No Way Home –

This is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comic character Spider-Man. Distributed by Sony Picture Releasing and co-produced by Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures. The film will be the sequel to Spider-Man: Far Way from Home (2019) and Spider-Man Home Coming (2017), and the 27th film in MCU. Written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna and directed by Jon Watts. The main cast includes Jamie Foxx, Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tony Revolori, Alfred Molina.

The film is scheduled for release on December 17, 2021, in the US and will the part of MCU Phase 4 releases.

Morbius –

Based on the Marvel Comic character Morbius is an upcoming American superhero film. Distributed by Sony Pictures and produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel. This film is the 3rd film in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless and directed by Daniel Espinosa. The main cast includes Matt Smith, Jared Leto, Adria Arjona. Morbius has a rare blood disease that he tries to cure, and in the process of healing, he becomes a vampire.

The film is scheduled for release on January 28, 2022, in the US. Initially, it was expected to release in June 2020 but got delayed due to pandemics.

 Uncharted – 

This is an upcoming American action-adventure film. Written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway and directed by Ruben Fleischer, and is an adaptation of the video game by Amy Hennig of the same name. The main casts include Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali, Tati Gabrielle, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Holland. The film started development in 2008. However, the film entered a complicated cast, writer, direction, and production, with many filmmakers being signed initially and later changed. The principal photography started in July 2020. As per sources, the film would be the original story.

The film is scheduled for release on February 18, 2022, in the US and released by Sony Pictures.

The Batman –

Based on DC Comics featuring the character Batman is an upcoming American superhero film. The Batman is being produced by DC Films and 6th & Idaho and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is a reboot of the Batman film franchise directed by Matt Reeves. The main cast includes Andy Serkis, Paul Dano, Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell. The film sees Batman fighting corruption in Gotham City while facing a serial killer.

The film is scheduled for release on March 4, 2022, in the US. Originally the film was supposed to release in June 2021, but due to the pandemic delayed twice.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness –

Based on the Marvel comic character Doctor Strange is an upcoming American superhero film. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and produced by Marvel Studios. This film is the 28th film in MCU and will be a sequel to Doctor Strange (2016). Directed by Sam Raimi and the script written by Michael Waldron and Jade Bartlett. The main cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen. Strange faces a friend-turned-enemy and unleashes an unspeakable evil.

The film is scheduled for release on March 25, 2022, in the US and will the part of MCU Phase 4 releases.

Thor: Love and Thunder –

Based on the Marvel comic character Thor is an upcoming American superhero film. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and produced by Marvel Studios. The film is the 29th film in the MCU and will be a direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017). Directed by Taika Waititi and screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Taika. The main cast includes Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale.
